Legs for Maun

maun-bigIn June 2010, the Icexpress team joined forces with non-profit organization, OK Prosthetics on a trip to Maun, Botswana.

The project, funded by the Government of Iceland, consisted of a one week training program where local leg makers were taught a revolutionary new way of prosthetic manufacture while 30 below knee amputees in the area received new advanced technology legs.

The main aim the trip was to facilitate knowledge transfer initiatives with Botswana while giving the selected amputees the opportunity to continue living and working as they did before.

One team, one week and 30 individuals with a new reason to stand tall and walk with style!
